Music is an integral part of worship at St. John's. We invite people of all ages to share their talents in the traditional Historic Church setting and the contemporary All Saints Hall worship.
The wise words of St. Augustine, “They who sing, pray twice,” capture the enduring essence of sacred music. All members of the congregation, whether in the choir or not, become ministers of music each time you raise your voices in the corporate singing of hymns and service music. Let us make a beautiful noise together!
ADULT CHOIR
The Adult Choir includes both experienced and novice singers in an environment of shared vision and camaraderie. No prior musical experience is necessary and high school students are encouraged to join. The Choir sings at our 10:30 a.m. service on Sundays. Rehearsals are every Thursday in the church choir loft from 7:30-8:45 p.m. Contact: Justin Pechulis
ST. JOHN'S RINGERS — Seeking new members!
St. John’s Ringers, the church bell choir, meets each week on Tuesday evenings during the program year from 7:00-8:00 p.m. We are currently seeking additional members to fill positions. Some previous music reading is encouraged but not necessary. St. John’s has a five-octave set of handbells. In recent years the choir has only been utilizing three octaves. Ringing the complete set requires 10 to 12 people. Please consider helping us in our endeavor to “Ring praises to our Creator.” Contact: Justin Pechulis
ALL SAINTS HALL (ASH) BAND
The All Saints Hall or "ASH" Band is a group of volunteer singers and musicians who meet every week to lead worship for the contemporary service in All Saints Hall (ASH). Contact: Scott Geist
YOUTH CHOIR
The Youth Choir is currently on hiatus due to Covid-19. Normally, the Youth Choir meets on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:00 p.m. (starting with dinner at 5:30 pm). Children in grades 2-8 are welcome, including those enrolled in the Parish Day School/after care program. We use a modified version of the Royal School of Church Music choral training program. INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE
The St. John’s Instrumental Ensemble is an intergenerational group open to adults, high school, and middle school students with 4+ years of experience playing brass, woodwind, strings, or percussion instruments. The ensemble provides music for worship in the Historic Church, as well as other special services throughout the year. Contact: Susan Fedors
